It’s always bothered me that we say “Happy 4th” or “Happy Independence Day”. Are we happy that These United States were created as one nation? Sure, ok, I’ll give you that one, but it’s not really a happy day; it shouldn’t be.


It should be a day of reflection

What were the events that shaped the founding of our nation? What challenges, hardships, problems, and oppression to freedom did our forefathers endure that shaped what our Founders created?

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” Click the image below to read the Declaration of Independence!


If you find yourself on this website, I strongly encourage you to honor our Founders. Read the Declaration of Independence … do it now. You’re on this page so invest a few minutes and reflect on the courage, strength, and wisdom of these men. They risked all to create the most wonderful IDEA this world had ever seen and I believe to this day, if we are disciplined to the meaning of The Declaration of Independence, is still the most wonderful idea mankind has ever created as empowered by our Creator. Consider the time our Founders lived in, and the enormous and profound challenges they had.


Can we honestly say that any of us would take the risk today that our Founders churned up in their spirit in 1776? Sadly, I don’t believe so. That’s why we must take a few minutes to read the Declaration of Independence and dig deep into the words. They are profound, and from their wisdom perhaps we can find just a little bit of that strength to carry on and live up to the ideal of These United States of America as intended by our Founders.

We owe so much to these men who sacrificed for all of us that came after. It’s a debt that I regret to say, and if I’m honest with myself, I must admit this, if only quietly and introspectively, I have failed to repay. How about you?
